Bali Kids is a special place for disadvantaged children. In addition to providing short, medium and long term shelter in our orphanage where up to 30 children become part of the Bali Kids family, the Bali Kids facility is also open to sick Indonesian children of all religions living in Bali. Parents from poor or economically challenged communities can bring their child to us for medical attention and treatment. Last year we provided this service to almost 6000 children.
Thanks to the generosity, kindness and commitment of a number of healthcare professionals, doctors and surgeons, we are also able to provide a range of much needed specialist medical services including dental, ophthalmic and corrective surgery for disfiguring conditions such as cleft palates.
Our outreach work takes us into many of the remotest villages in the far North, East and West of Bali as well as the City of Denpasar. Our outreach programme not only provides medical care to children in remote areas, but increasingly is a source of health education and prevention which the more remote communities don't generally have access to - or quite often are even awareness of.
